The company

Fidora family has been producing wine in the Veneto region since 1927. In 1974, it started its pioneering organic wine production project and today, at its 4th generation, the company is proudly carrying on with this philosophy in all of its estates. The Pleistocene soil next to the lagoon in Tenuta Civranetta (a 600 years old Benedictine estate in Venice mainland) gives its best expression in the production of white still and sparkling wines. Reds are produced in the Valpolicella area, where the family owns one estate in the Classica area, over the high hills of Fumane Valley, and several estates in the rest of the Valpolicella. The winery’s portfolio includes Valpolicella, Valpolicella Ripasso, Amarone della Valpolicella, Prosecco, Moscato, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay.

Being organic

To us, being organic doesn’t only mean to go back to some “good old principles”, it means to move a step forward in terms of quality, health, sustainability and environmental responsibility.
For this reason, we consider fundamental to match the latest technology in this sector together with the experience inherited by the older generations.
All of our vineards are cultivated according to two general concepts: avoiding chemicals and developping biodiversity.

No chemicals

Agrochemicals like pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers have a dramatic impact on environment.
They kill both bad and good species of plants and animals, they infiltrate the soil and get drained by the plants, they pollute the water and the air, we breath them, we drink them, we eat them. Chemicals can cause soil desertification and the loss of biodiversity. They spoil the plantations, by reducing their natural enemies and resources.
Forget about all this in our vineyards. Synthetic substances are replaced by natural products of biological origin. We follow the same philosophy in the cellar.

Our approach

Avoiding chemicals and enhancing biodiversity is not enough.
You will have no chemical weapon to handle diseases or dangerous insects, the only way is to prevent them. This brings the vintner closer to the vines, looking after them every day. By nourishing the land and treating it with respect, we know that it will give us back its finest fruits.
Commitment, perseverance, experience, this makes our grapes perfect before they get to the cellar. We are at our fourth generation and we didn’t commit to this philosophy at a certain point of its life, we were born and raised with it.

Organic wine

In our opinion, wine is made to be enjoyed and to convey emotions.
We want all of our wines to taste excellent, to be the best companions to a special occasion or to make a normal occasion special. Organic wines are healthier than those made from conventionally grown grapes. They are made with more care, following practices that protect both the environment and the people who work in the production process. Our wines reflect the unique features of grape varieties, local geology and climate, in a word, our terroir.
